Episode 5 – Rubí Rodríguez Ruiz’s story: How Tulum’s school of life reconnected her with nature
/Get to know Rubí Rodríguez Ruiz, who is part of the Tulum community since almost four years. The creative mind is the co-founder of La Minimal, a distributor of biodegradable products in Tulum, and the natural cosmetic brand Alximia, which is syncing beauty routines with astrology.
Rubí was born in the big city of Guadalajara, Jalisco and grew up in the mega metropolis Monterrey, Nuevo León in the north of Mexico. Although being the so called "big city girl", she always had the urge to live somewhere by the sea. When she was 26 years old, thanks to an unexpected push from her dad she made the move to Tulum without ever having visited it before. "In Tulum, I didn’t feel pressured to be someone I am not," she explains why she immediately fell in love with the small beach town.
Today, Rubí runs two businesses rooted in the Mexican Caribbean grown from her strong belief in making a change with sustainable solutions as well as her deep connection with astrology, eco-consciousness, psychology, communications and design.
